The Alliance for Safer Driving is a Hunter’s Fund program bringing together businesses, professional firms, community leaders, and individuals who want to help young people make safer decisions behind the wheel.
Prevention Starts Before the Crash
Hunter’s Fund was created by Judy and Jerry Watson after losing their 20-year-old son, Hunter, in a distracted-driving crash while he was in college.
Since then, students have carried Hunter’s story to campuses across the country through Safe Driving Week, Hunter’s Pledge, and peer-to-peer education.
Our goal is simple:
Reach young drivers before one moment of distraction changes another family forever.

Who Can Join?
The Alliance for Safer Driving is intentionally broad.
We welcome organizations and individuals who share a commitment to safer roads, including:
Automobile companies and dealerships
Wireless and telecommunications companies
Insurance companies and agencies
Law firms and attorneys
Employers and other businesses
Civic and community organizations
Individuals and families
You do not need to work in transportation or road safety to participate.
You simply need to believe that preventing a tragedy is better than responding to one afterward.

Membership gifts help Hunter’s Fund provide students with the materials, guidance, and support they need to organize Safe Driving Weeks and reach their peers.
Individual Member — $100 Annually
Join others who want to help young people make safer decisions behind the wheel.
Founding Organization Member — $500 Annually
Give your company, firm, agency, or organization a visible role in helping expand distracted-driving prevention.
Campus Sponsor — $1,000 Annually
Help equip a complete student-led Safe Driving Week that may reach hundreds—or even thousands—of young people.
Leadership Member — $2,500 Annually
Help expand Safe Driving Week to additional schools and communities.
The Alliance for Safer Driving is a program of Hunter’s Fund, not a separate organization or professional association.
What Your Support Provides
Hunter’s Fund provides student volunteers with the resources they need to organize successful Safe Driving Weeks, including campaign materials, Hunter’s Pledge cards, educational displays, planning resources, and ongoing support.
Students then do something especially powerful:
They talk directly with other students.
They staff information tables, share Hunter’s story, collect pledge signatures, and start conversations about distracted driving with their friends and classmates.

Each one is an opportunity to prevent a tragedy.

Recognition on the Hunter’s Fund website
A digital Alliance for Safer Driving member badge for a company or organization website, LinkedIn page, or email signature
Updates showing what student campaigns are accomplishing
Opportunities to support a Safe Driving Week at a school or in a community meaningful to them
Recognition is optional. Members may also choose to remain anonymous.

Hunter’s Story
Hunter Watson was a talented college student, entrepreneur, and friend whose life was cut short in a distracted-driving crash.
His family created Hunter’s Fund so that his story could help save others.
Today, students across the country carry Hunter’s story forward by encouraging their friends and classmates to make safer choices behind the wheel.
