Prevention Is Every Bit as Important as Recovery
Hunter’s Fund was created by Judy and Jerry Watson after their son, Hunter, was killed as a passenger in a distracted-driving crash while he was in college.
Today, Hunter’s Fund helps students lead Safe Driving Weeks on college campuses across the country. Student volunteers speak directly with their classmates, share Hunter’s story, and invite young people to sign Hunter’s Pledge not to drive distracted.
The program is intentionally student-led because young people often listen most closely to their peers.
Our goal is simple: reach young drivers before a moment of distraction changes another family’s life.
