Carly Danielson creates animated videos to teach mental health awareness
At just 24, Penn State graduate Carly Danielson is using her psychology degree and voice-over experience to make mental health education accessible to children and teens. Through a new animated video series, Carly is helping young audiences learn how to recognize and cope with common emotional challenges such as anxiety.
“In each video, the main character faces a situation that triggers anxiety and doesn’t understand what they’re feeling or how to handle it,” Carly explains. “The videos outline what can cause those feelings and how to manage them. I want viewers to realize that knowledge about mental health can be accessible to anyone, at any age.”
Carly’s goal is to create an engaging platform that blends storytelling, education, and empathy. By combining her love for psychology and creativity, she hopes to reduce stigma and provide tools for self-understanding. With support from Hunter’s Fund, Carly will continue developing this educational series to promote mental health awareness through art and animation.
