Why did Phi Kappa Psi choose Hunter's Fund as its Official Philanthropy?

That's a great question! If you're new to our story, the answer is rooted in history and meaningful connections.

How often do we stop to think about the small decisions we make before getting into a car—like buckling up, silencing a phone, or waiting until we’re calm to drive? These choices can make all the difference. I thought it might be appropriate to share my personal experience with distracted driving that informs the decisions I make in the car to this day.

One of the best parts of my job is being able to pour all my energy and skill into UPDATE. Instead of being part of a larger news assembly line, I’m often the entire process—from reporting and editing to designing and writing.

Hunter’s Fund exists to empower students with world-changing ideas. I’m so excited to share updates from four of our grant recipients!

My coworker and Program Coordinator Heather came up with a fantastic idea: Why don’t we create a magazine just for Phi Psi brothers, so they can see the good work they’re doing with Safe Driving Weeks nationwide? While we’re at it, maybe we can inspire other Phi Psi chapters to host Safe Driving Week, too!

And then the Safe Driving Update was born!

Three student start-up teams with ties to Hunter’s Fund participated in the finals of the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) held in Albany on April 25. Two of those students received awards for their big ideas.
