Build Awareness to the Dangers of Distracted Driving

Your Sisters can make 1,000’s Aware
by Hosting a Social Media Day

In addition to getting your members to pledge not to drive distracted, there is a huge need for building awareness.

To help build awareness of the dangers of distracted driving, your members can use our awareness-building platform by posting to their social media - Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to spread the importance of safe driving and encourage donations for spreading the campaign to more schools to help save lives. This social media effort is easy and only takes a few minutes of a member's time. Social Media Day can be coordinated in a single day but best begun at least a week before Pledge Signing Night.

Students today have 1,000's of followers within their social media accounts, and although most know few of these personally, the potential reach of these followers is enormous and can have an impact on many.

Just six members of your group can spread this message to more than 6,000 people, the size of an average college campus!

So let's get started and see how many people we can reach with the message to End Distracted Driving! This is going to be fun, simple and take only a few minutes of their time.

If anyone feels awkward about posting a safety message on their social media, think about this:

If you were walking to class and someone next to you was looking at their phone and about to walk in front of a moving car, you know for sure you would warm them!

Don’t be hesitant or shy about reminding others how you feel about the dangers of distracted driving.

You may save someone’s life.  Maybe a close friend or family member, or even your own.

AWARENESS BUILDING SOCIAL MediA FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

A social media campaign is a great way to bring your entire sorority together for a single purpose.

Launching the Awareness Campaign, a week before Pledge Signing Night is the first step in building awareness of the dangers of distracted driving and support for your Pledge Signing event, and a valuable way to connect your sorority members to their friends and family. It shows that you are committed to educating others about the dangers of distracted driving.

An option to get your members excited about the Campaign is to consider setting up Teams. Each member joins a Team and then makes their personal page, but the results are also credited to their Team page. Being a part of a Team can build a little competition and help individual members conquer their fears about asking for support!

Pledges vs. Actives, Clubs vs. Clubs, Schools vs. Schools are proven Team builders.
