Gabe Schultz builds a clearer path for future first responders
As an EMT, Marine Corps reservist, and firefighter, Gabe Schultz knows how challenging it can be to start a career in emergency services. That experience inspired him to create myEMSpath, a platform designed to help aspiring first responders navigate the complex process of entering the field.
“It’s hard and confusing to get a job in this field,” Gabe explains. myEMSpath provides step-by-step guidance on local regulations, required certifications, and training programs—especially for those who may not have access to mentorship or support. “Our platform will provide people choosing to pursue a career in this field the resources they need to succeed,” he says.
Beyond helping individuals, Gabe also hopes to tackle larger issues like burnout and staffing shortages by streamlining hiring and training.
With support from his Hunter’s Fund grant, Gabe is developing tools that make it easier for new EMTs and firefighters to join the workforce—strengthening communities and ensuring more people are ready to answer the call when it matters most.
