PAANI Water Filter
Clean water solutions work best when they fit the lives and traditions of the people expected to use them.
Brianna Howard and Nikita Chatterjee created PAANI to explore a water-filtration system for communities in India. Rather than asking users to abandon familiar practices, their concept integrated filtration into the traditional sari and included a mechanism to indicate when a filter needed replacement.
Brianna was recognized with Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards in both 2019 and 2020 as the team continued developing the idea.
