Making the School Bus Less of a Mystery
BusPoint
Parents should not have to guess whether a delayed school bus is five minutes away or still across town.
Justin Gluska developed BusPoint as a web-based way for school districts to give families real-time bus information and reduce uncertainty around delays. The project began with GPS-style tracking and alerts, then pushed Justin to think more broadly about route efficiency, school budgets, and the way software could solve transportation problems at scale.
Justin received both a Hunter's Fund Grant and a Spirit of Entrepreneurship Award. Just as important as the original idea was what he learned from testing it: a young entrepreneur sometimes has to change direction when the evidence points to a better problem to solve.
What your support made possible:
Early funding and recognition to prototype BusPoint, test the school-bus tracking idea, and learn from the market.
Because of you... Justin had the room to test an idea, learn from what the market told him, and keep solving transportation problems with technology.
