PAANI Water Filter
Nikita Chatterjee and Brianna Howard approached clean water as both an engineering problem and a question of everyday culture.
Their PAANI concept was designed to integrate an advanced water filter into the traditional sari, allowing a familiar garment to become part of a water-purification system. The design also included a way to signal when the filter should be replaced.
Nikita was recognized with Spirit of Entrepreneurship Awards in both 2019 and 2020 as the team continued refining an idea built around the people who might use it.
