Lorenzo Wood upgrades his studio to support young musicians

Lorenzo Wood, a high school junior from the Oakland–East Bay area, has already built an impressive foundation in the music world. At just 14, he began performing as both a singer and musician, while also establishing Lorenzo Wood Music Studios to record his own work as well as that of other young artists. Over the past four years, he has led three bands and performed in several others, playing drums, bass, guitar, keyboards, and vocals.

Through his studio, Lorenzo has created opportunities for emerging musicians to capture their sound in a supportive environment. However, his recording setup has been limited by the lack of professional-grade equipment. Seeking to improve the quality of his productions, Lorenzo applied for a Hunter Watson Memorial Fund grant to enhance his studio capabilities.

With the grant, he will acquire a top-level audio interface, high-quality microphones, and essential extensions. These upgrades will allow Lorenzo to produce professional-grade recordings, empowering both his own music and that of his peers in a stress-free, creative space.
