Reimagining the Future of Eyewear
Jacob Kaplan
Hunter’s Fund grant recipient Jacob Kaplan is working to make vision correction more flexible and accessible through HexFlex, an innovative tunable prescription lens developed through his company, OtherTech.
Rather than requiring separate pairs of glasses for reading, distance vision, or everyday use, HexFlex is designed to allow users to adjust their prescription on demand. The technology could adapt to changing vision needs while working within virtually any frame shape, offering a more convenient alternative to traditional eyewear.
For Jacob, the project is about more than improving glasses. “I’m passionate about building a brighter future through the creation of new technologies,” he said.
Through HexFlex, Jacob is pursuing a simple but ambitious goal: one pair of glasses that can do it all.
