Tara McLaughlin explores peacebuilding through international dialogue

Tara McLaughlin, a junior at The Potomac School in McLean, Virginia, has been awarded a Hunter’s Fund grant to participate in the 19-day Hands of Peace program this summer in Chicago and San Diego. The program unites high school students from Israel, Palestine, and the United States, fostering dialogue, empathy, and understanding around the challenges facing the Middle East.

Tara’s interest in international relations and policy has been shaped by her active participation in Model UN competitions and her involvement in diversity conferences at her school. Through these experiences, she has developed a passion for bridging cultures and learning from different perspectives.

By joining Hands of Peace, Tara hopes to deepen her understanding of the complexities in the region and return to The Potomac School community ready to share new insights and foster conversations that inspire change. Her grant will cover program registration, making this transformative opportunity possible.
