KENICHIA CHARLES LAUNCHES A CAREER IN HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGY AND GIVES CREDIT TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Kenichia Charles, a two-time Hunter’s Fund grant recipient from Anguilla, is turning her passion for healthcare technology into real-world impact.
After earning her certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician in May 2023, with the help of Hunter’s Fund, Kenichia completed six months of hands-on training as a Clinical Engineer at the University of Vermont. That experience led her back home to Anguilla, where she now serves as a Biomedical Engineer for the Department of Health Services.
But she’s not just working, she’s leading. When her supervisor is away, Kenichia steps in as Acting Director of Facilities, a role that reflects her growing expertise and confidence.
And she’s just getting started. Kenichia plans to pursue a Master’s in Management and is currently writing a book about the unique challenges faced by Biomedical Engineers in the Caribbean.
“I am forever grateful that Hunter’s Fund provided me with a launching pad to excel in the field of Healthcare Technology Management, where I can make a positive impact on so many lives,” she says.
