How to Make Fundraising Feel Easy

A fundraiser does not have to be formal to be meaningful.

In fact, some of the best student events are the ones that feel easy to join. A car wash, Pie in the Face event, petting zoo, talent show, 5K, fun run, or Dine-and-Donate night can bring people together without making the planning feel overwhelming.

The idea is simple: choose something students will actually want to attend.

A pie event works because it is funny and quick. A car wash works because it gives people a clear reason to stop by. A restaurant night works because students already need to eat. A petting zoo works because it is different, social, and easy to share on Instagram.

These kinds of events also give your group a natural way to talk about Hunter’s Fund. While people are laughing, eating, donating, or taking photos, your volunteers can share the bigger reason behind the event: helping end distracted driving and supporting young people with promising ideas.

You do not need months of planning to make something work. Start with an event your group understands. Pick a date. Promote it clearly. Ask friends, classmates, alumni, and family to support it.

Keep it simple. Make it fun. Use the event to bring more students into the conversation.
