Making College Easier to Navigate Together
AlmaCampus
When Akshay Ramaswamy began his studies at Stanford University, he faced the same challenge many first-year students do, figuring out which classes to take, what clubs to join, and how to make meaningful connections. Drawing on his strong background in computer technology from his high school years in Lakeland, New York, Akshay created a solution designed to help students navigate those uncertainties together.
Now a junior, he has co-founded AlmaCampus.com , a college-exclusive online network that allows students to connect with peers, share advice, and explore academic and social opportunities. The platform launched at Stanford and quickly gained traction, attracting over a thousand users within its first three weeks.
With the support of his Hunter's Fund grant, Akshay plans to grow AlmaCampus beyond Stanford by expanding its reach to additional college campuses. His goal is to make the site a trusted community where students everywhere can find guidance, share experiences, and build lasting connections.
