Letting Patients Leave the IV Pole Behind
MedUX / L-IV
For someone receiving an IV, the pole beside the bed can become a constant reminder of how treatment limits movement.
Alec Gillinder and Quinn King created MedUX to explore a more portable approach. Their L-IV concept was designed as a wearable intravenous system that could let patients move more freely, while a second version was considered for emergency and field settings.
The idea grew from a simple question: could necessary medical equipment fit better into a patient's life instead of forcing the patient to fit around the equipment?
