Ricardo Sanchez and Russell Fearon looked at diabetes management and saw a chance to make everyday tools easier to carry and use.
Their SugEx concept centered on a wearable smartwatch connected to a phone app. It was designed to help users display and track readings, remember testing, and keep important information close at hand.
The team wanted to combine practical health-management functions with a design people could personalize and wear comfortably in daily life.
