A Dream That Finally Took Flight
Commercial Pilot Training
Growing up on the island of St. Vincent, Rishi Ramsamooj carried a dream that felt almost impossible: becoming a professional pilot. Resources were limited, but his determination was not.
After studying math and computer science, he moved to Florida to begin flight training. A Hunter's Fund grant helped cover flight hours and keep his training moving. The pandemic later interrupted that path, but Rishi returned to the skies in 2023.
He has since logged more than 1,200 flight hours and serves as a First Officer with SVG Air, flying routes across the Caribbean. He is still working toward the next license and hopes his path encourages other young people to aim beyond the limits of their circumstances.
