Jeremy Boyd builds an inclusive ceramic studio for artists and community
University of Alabama student Jeremy Boyd is shaping more than clay—he’s shaping opportunity. A ceramic artist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jeremy is using his Hunter’s Fund grant to help open his own ceramic studio, a space designed not only for his own artistic growth but also to welcome and empower others.
His vision extends beyond personal creation. Jeremy plans to offer private ceramic classes, provide rentable studio space for local artists, and lead community engagement projects that introduce ceramic art to underprivileged youth and individuals living with physical or intellectual disabilities.
“Being a person living with a mobility disability, I find that the everyday world doesn’t always take me into account,” Jeremy shares. “This has created a hunger in me to prove—to myself above all others—that persons living with disabilities are capable beyond the realities that we, and society at large, have created for us.”
Through art and accessibility, Jeremy is building a studio that embodies creativity, inclusion, and resilience.
