Lucas d’Oelsnitz designs sensory-friendly clothing for neurodivergent comfort
Syracuse University student Lucas d’Oelsnitz, majoring in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises, is combining business innovation with compassion. As co-founder and CFO of SOLACE Collective, Lucas is helping create sensory-friendly clothing designed with and for neurodivergent individuals.
SOLACE’s first collection features sweatshirts and sweatpants made with ultra-soft, tagless fabrics, flat seams, adjustable fits, and discreet or visible fidget elements—all developed in close collaboration with the neurodivergent community. “At SOLACE, we offer not just fabric-based comfort, but clothing that helps people feel at ease in their own skin,” Lucas explains.
With support from his Hunter’s Fund grant, Lucas will produce 60 sample units across three designs to distribute to neurodivergent influencers, advocacy organizations, and clinical specialists for feedback before full production.
Since launching in 2024, Lucas has devoted more than 500 hours to SOLACE Collective, drawing on his background in finance and entrepreneurship. His work embodies Hunter’s Fund’s mission—using creativity and innovation to build a more inclusive and compassionate world.
