Building Computers That Are Meant to Last
Revcorp PC / Modular Computer Cases
University of Texas at El Paso engineering student Matthew Braxton is redefining what sustainable technology looks like. Through his startup, Revcorp PC , Matthew is developing eco-friendly modular computer cases designed to reduce electronic waste and extend the lifespan of personal computers.
With support from his Hunter's Fund grant , Matthew plans to manufacture and distribute the cases commercially. Each unit will be 3D printed from biodegradable PLA filament made from algae , rather than traditional plastic. The modular design allows users to easily replace individual parts instead of discarding the entire case, dramatically cutting down on e-waste.
"Proprietary parts contribute greatly to e-waste," Matthew explains. "Our modular cases empower users to modify and repair computers themselves."
A graduate of Pebble Hills High School, Matthew founded Revcorp PC to provide affordable computers and tech services in El Paso. He also plans to make his design open-source and use profits to supply refurbished computers to those in need, a mission that perfectly embodies the innovation and compassion of Hunter's Fund.
